Hopeless blogger

So it’s been 7 months since I last posted anything on this blog; so much for getting some writing practise in before we head away on our travels. Writing has never been a strong point of mine so please bear with me in the future as I fumble through.

Life has done it’s thing and got in the way, as it has a habit of doing, and we have exciting times ahead! Within the last few months we have decided to bring forward our travels, leaving Australia at the start of November. From there we catch up with our families’ in New Zealand and eventually leave the comfort of home and family to start our adventures in Mexico.

So far our planning is a rough route through Mexico starting in Guadalajara for 5 nights and then heading to the beach in Puerto Vallarta for 4 nights. A majority of our trip will be booked only a little in advance allowing us the freedom to really soak up a place if we are enjoying it.

Some other destinations in Mexico which are on our list are: Mexico City, the Oaxaca region/coast and many places on the Yucatan Peninsula. After we have had our fill of Mexico we will venture forward into the rest of Central America, eventually making our way down into South America where we want to see the Amazon (Tarantulas not included) and trek Machu Picchu.

From this post onwards I hope to regularly update everyone on our experiences; good, bad and ugly. Tom will also be chipping in with some posts as well, so you can get a different writing style and perspective. This way we can keep all our loving family and friends from all over NZ and Australia, and anyone else curious about the parts of the world we are travelling involved.
